ENT – Children

Children are very often affected by ENT diseases and need rapid help

Sniffles, colds, tonsillitis, middle ear infection, allergy, snoring, nocturnal awakening, breathing pauses, polyps, throat clearing, etc. worry the little ones and their parents. But the ENT examination should be a good memory! It takes a lot of empathy, patience and skill to win over the little patients and examine them playfully but professionally.

I always try to avoid operative therapy. However, if it has come to the point that an operation is needed, I use the gentlest methods.

I operate on “polyps” (adenoids) and tonsil reductions (tonsillotomy) exclusively with the new, gentle Coblation Plasma Technology. It enables an almost or completely bloodless operation: the tonsils or polyps are virtually “eradicated”. The Coblation probe works at 40°C, so there are no burns. Since the Coblation probe is flexible, you can reach the areas, especially when removing polyps, that are somewhat difficult to reach with conventional methods. Since a saline solution always drips into this probe (it is split and converted into a plasma field, which removes the tissue in thin layers), and a suction device is also built in, the operating area is constantly cleaned and good visibility is therefore provided.

After the operation with the COBLATION method, there is less pain and bleeding.
